LinkedIn Ads for B2B Lead Generation: A Practical Guide
26 October 2026 · By Mohammad Khalil · Paid Ads
LinkedIn Ads are the most precise way to put a B2B offer in front of decision-makers, because you can target people by job title, seniority, company and industry instead of by interests. They cost more per click than Meta or Google, so they pay off when one new client is worth enough to cover a higher cost per lead. For most B2B companies in Jordan and the Gulf, the winning setup is a tightly targeted campaign that uses LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms and a clear offer.
Are LinkedIn Ads worth it for B2B lead generation?
They are worth it when your customer is a business, the decision is made by a specific role, and a single deal is worth hundreds or thousands of dinars. If you sell low-priced products to consumers, Meta or Google will almost always bring cheaper results.
The reason is simple. On LinkedIn, people describe their own job, employer and seniority, so you can reach "HR managers at companies with 200+ employees in Amman" with a level of accuracy that interest-based targeting cannot match. You pay for that accuracy: clicks and leads are usually noticeably more expensive than on Facebook or Instagram.
The audience in Jordan is also bigger than many business owners assume. LinkedIn had 2 million members in Jordan in early 2025, up 25% in a year, according to DataReportal. That is a smaller pool than Facebook's ad reach of 5.45 million people in Jordan (DataReportal), but it is a far more professional one, and B2B campaigns rarely need millions of people. They need the right few thousand.
LinkedIn Ads vs Meta and Google: which is better for B2B?
LinkedIn is better when you need to reach a role, Google is better when buyers are already searching, and Meta is better when you need volume at a low cost per lead. Most B2B companies end up using two of the three, each for a different job.
| Platform | Best B2B use | Targeting strength | Typical trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reaching decision-makers by job title, company and industry | Professional data people enter about themselves | Higher cost per click and per lead | |
| Capturing people already searching for your service | Search intent and keywords | Limited to demand that already exists | |
| Meta | Volume leads, small businesses, WhatsApp conversations | Interests and behaviour, broad reach | Less control over who the lead works for |
A practical rule: if your buyer is the owner of a small shop, Meta usually wins. If your buyer is a procurement manager at a bank or a hospital, LinkedIn usually wins. Our guide on where a small business should start advertising walks through the same intent-based logic for consumer platforms.
How does LinkedIn targeting by job title, company and industry work?
LinkedIn lets you build an audience from professional attributes: job title, job function, seniority, company name, company industry, company size, skills and years of experience. You combine these with a location, such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia or the UAE, to reach a specific group of professionals.
The most useful combinations for B2B lead generation are:
- Job function + seniority, for example Finance at Director level and above. This is usually more stable than listing exact job titles, because people write the same role in many ways.
- Job title, when the role is very specific, such as "Procurement Manager" or "Head of IT".
- Company industry + company size, for example hospitals and healthcare with 51 to 500 employees.
- Company name lists, when you already know the accounts you want. You can upload a list of target companies and reach employees of those companies only.
Two more audiences matter. Contact list uploads let you reach people already in your CRM, and website retargeting through the LinkedIn Insight Tag lets you show ads to people who visited your site. For both, set up tracking properly first; our GA4, Meta Pixel and Conversions API checklist explains the same principles of clean events and verified conversions.
A common mistake is stacking so many filters that the audience becomes tiny and expensive. LinkedIn also needs a minimum audience size before a campaign can run, so start a little broader and narrow down based on lead quality.
What are LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms and why use them?
LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms are forms that open inside LinkedIn when someone clicks your ad, with fields such as name, email, company and job title already filled from their profile. Because the person does not leave LinkedIn or type much, they usually convert better than sending traffic to a landing page, especially on mobile.
To get good leads from Lead Gen Forms:
- Ask only for what sales needs. Name, work email, company and job title are often enough. Each extra custom question reduces completions.
- Add one qualifying question when lead quality matters, such as company size or timeline.
- Write a clear thank-you message that tells people what happens next and links to something useful.
- Connect the leads to your CRM or download them from Campaign Manager every day. B2B leads go cold quickly, so call or email within hours, not days.
- Review lead quality weekly with the sales team, and adjust targeting based on which job titles and companies actually become meetings.
The trade-off is that prefilled forms are easy to submit, so some leads are lower intent. A qualifying question and a specific offer, such as a free audit, a price guide or a demo, fix most of this.
How much do LinkedIn Ads cost, and what is a good cost per lead?
LinkedIn usually costs more per click than other platforms, and there is no universal good cost per lead. A good cost per lead (CPL) is any CPL that stays below what a lead is worth to your business.
Work it out backwards from your own numbers. As an illustration, say a B2B service contract is worth 4,000 JOD, and 1 in 10 qualified leads becomes a client. Each qualified lead is then worth about 400 JOD in revenue. If your margin allows you to spend a quarter of that on acquisition, you can afford a CPL of up to 100 JOD and still grow profitably. A consumer business could never pay that, which is exactly why LinkedIn suits B2B.
The calculation itself is simple: CPL equals ad spend divided by the number of leads. If you spend 600 JOD and receive 12 leads, your CPL is 50 JOD. Also watch click-through rate (CTR): a low CTR usually means the ad or offer is not relevant to the audience you selected.

How do you set up a LinkedIn Ads lead generation campaign step by step?
Set up a LinkedIn lead campaign in Campaign Manager by choosing the Lead generation objective, defining your audience, picking an ad format and attaching a Lead Gen Form. The whole first setup takes about an hour once your offer is ready.
- Create a LinkedIn Page and an ad account in Campaign Manager, and add a payment method.
- Install the LinkedIn Insight Tag on your website for retargeting and conversion tracking.
- Choose the Lead generation objective for a new campaign.
- Build the audience: location (for example Jordan or the UAE), plus job function, seniority, industry or company size.
- Pick the ad format: single image to start, then test document ads (for guides and reports) and video.
- Create the Lead Gen Form with a short set of fields and one qualifying question.
- Set the budget and bidding: start with automated bidding and a daily budget you can sustain for a few weeks.
- Launch, then review CTR, CPL and lead quality every week, and pause the weakest ads.
What makes a LinkedIn ad work for B2B decision-makers?
A LinkedIn ad works when it names a specific business problem, speaks to one role, and offers something useful in exchange for the lead. Generic messages like "We are the leading company in Jordan" rarely get clicks from busy managers.
Strong B2B offers include an industry report, a checklist, a free consultation or audit, a webinar or a demo. Write the headline for the role, not for everyone: an HR director and a CFO care about different outcomes from the same service. Keep the copy clear in the language your audience uses at work; in Jordan and the Gulf that often means testing Arabic and English versions separately.
Writing and testing B2B ad copy is one of the practical exercises in our LinkedIn Ads Workshop: B2B Lead Generation in Jordan. Run at least two or three ad variations per campaign, change one element at a time, and let results, not opinions, decide. LinkedIn advertising is a skill many companies in the region need and few marketers have, so it is a valuable specialism. Our guide on how to become a performance marketer in Jordan shows where it fits in a wider career path.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum budget for LinkedIn Ads?
LinkedIn sets a minimum daily budget per campaign, and the exact amount depends on your account currency. More important than the minimum is giving a test campaign enough budget for a few weeks to collect meaningful lead data.
Can I run LinkedIn Ads without a website?
Yes. With Lead Gen Forms, people submit their details inside LinkedIn, so you only need a LinkedIn Page and an ad account. A website still helps, because it enables retargeting through the Insight Tag and builds trust before a sales call.
Should LinkedIn ads in Jordan be in Arabic or English?
It depends on the audience: many managers in Jordan and the Gulf work in English, while others respond better to Arabic. Run separate ad versions in each language and let cost per lead and lead quality decide.
